I’m not saying you have to follow it, but if you like films, and you like reading about what other people (or just me?) have to say about films then it might be a worthy inclusion to your dashboard, no?
- I wanted to call it Popcorn but somebody already took that name like, 6 years ago, wrote 3 posts, then never used it again as far as one can tell.
- Before that i’d wanted to call it Microwave but somebody already registered with that URI and obviously, never bothered to use it. L4M3.
- I was going to go with Fffire but now I’m not, because a very long time ago, on Myspace, that was the name of pseudo-creative art project that I eventully wanted to turn into a Distro/Record label, but never bothered with and I’m not going to resurrect it. Some guy called Marc now has the Myspace URI, good for him!
Let people answer this?
…about starting a movie blog, I watch films, probably not as many as I ought to, and I like films quite alot. I’m a fan of Nostalgia Critic and everything that James Rolfe does. More recently, Tumblr staff very kindly introduced us to Lazy Reviewer which is still my favourite Tumblr and i’d be lying if I said she hasn’t influenced me. While i’m giving shout outs I should also mention that VHShitfest are doing something similar to what me and my little brother talked about doing, which was basically collecting really awful films.
Anyway, I have digressed from the point,
So I want to start a movie blog with three rules:
- Talk about films.
- Keep it short and sweet. Tumblr is a MICROBLOGGING site. No more than 200 chars(ish?).
- Be ruthless, if it’s shit, LET THEM KNOW IT’S A FUCKING CINEMATIC ABOMINATION.
I genuinely think i’m better at saying bad things than good things, so that might give you some idea of how this hypothetical blog is going to trend, anyway, if I did start this in the New Year, would you guys be up for that? Is that something you would like?

How the hell Dan Reed - Straightheads didn’t make this I will never understand, although this is pretty funny and for the best part, ironically accurate, although I have to disagree with Spiderman 3 & Van Helsing as being bad films. I thought they were good. Somebody needs to stop Uwe Boll and Jason Friedberg / Aaron Seltzer from making movies. Especially Friedberg & Seltzer.
