Hollowaygate.

I feel like a bit of a prick, I’m not trying to big myself up or provoke some kind of reaction like; “yah! yr so cool! u ttly shown alfie from the holloways whoze boss! *high 5”… It just amused me.

Anyway, here’s a little bit more rambling from ‘helen’ who is either a Holloways fan or part of thier PR team, or both. After now i’ll stop flooding tumblr with my useless internet banter arguing.

Johnny wilson, no band can fully set themselves apart from their contempories purely because Its all been done before! Libertines are not orginal, they’re just like the clash or the ramones. If you can name me one band that is completely different or orginal I’ll agree with you. I think you’ll find its extremely difficult and it won’t just be because your an idiot.

helen - I never for one second labelled The Libertines as original because frankly they are not. I do quite like The Ramones and The Clash though. (why do so many bands have “The” names?!) and as off-topic as this is getting, I wouldn’t expect any band to “fully set themselves apart from their contempories” because its the tired, old ‘done-before’ argument that has been had a thousand times over. However a deviation from mainstream, conveyor belt “fashion-indie” is never a bad thing. Any band can sell records by sounding completely like the last one. As for bands that sound “completely different or orginal” I offer the following suggestions for you to listen to at your own leisure: Cursive, The Vogue, Metronomy, Semifinalists, Youthmovies, Moving Units, The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower, Meet Me In St. Louis & more recently Pulled Apart By Horses. Obviously its debateable just how ‘original’ the aforementioned are, but I think they deserve credit for trying something that, at the time, was or is a deviation from their current crop of contempories. Come back to me when you have justification that i’m an idiot and i’ll agree with you. :)

“yeah johnnyw! you ttly put hrr in hrr plaze! e.t.c!”

Anyway, its finished.
Unless of course any more golden nuggets of comedy are posted.
