I’ve got a new camera.
It’s a Pentax MZ-10, which is an analogue SLR from 1996. It looks a little bit like this one:
which I found on EBay, but a lot less scratched and I have a lens that I don’t know the measurements of, off hand, but needless to say it has a significant zoom.
It cost me £20 from a charity shop. When I brought it, it didn’t work, which is maybe why it had ended up in a charity shop, but I had a proper look at it and it had hardly been used so it felt like a bargain to me. A quick battery change later and everything seems to fine, even the light meter works?!
I’m half way through putting a film through it and playing around with the different settings so hopefully it turns out ok…
This is like my 8th camera or something, meaning my current collection is now as follows:
- a compact digitial Kodak Easyshare C613 (incidently I’ve ended up with 2 of these so I lend one out to my mum / dad / brother / e.t.c Solid little compact!)
- a digital Fujifilm Finepix S5600 (that is so big, bulky, and ultimately just a digital camera with a big zoom. I’m thinking of selling it.)
- a analogue Lomography Fisheye (that my lovely girlfriend got me as a present and is quite fun to play around with.)
- a 35mm Samsung Fino 800 (which i hardly use now, because i’ve broken the feeder in it.)
- a 35mm Olympus OM-10 SLR (that I brought off ebay for something ridiculous like £15.)
- and a 35mm Pentax MZ-10 SLR
I also used to have a little compact Fujifilm Finepix that I sold which was my first camera, I brought it for my birthday in 2006 and I loved it. And I used to have a old 35mm Fuji that I used to borrow off my mum but I don’t know what happened to it and she can’t remember… We think it might have been broken and thrown away.
