I went to Godiva Festival on Saturday afternoon, pretty much just to see 80’s Matchbox B-Line Disaster, who were pretty amazing to watch.

If you’re not familiar with Godiva it’s basically this three day festival held in Memorial Park, with about 3 stages playing a wide variety of music and performance. Saturday, on the main stage is the rock music day. Idlewild headlined this year with The Twang and 80’s Matchbox also playing, in the past bands like Kasabian, Glasvegas, The Enemy, Hundred Reasons, Cooper Temple Clause, Mercury Rev and The Fratellis have played. They also have like an 80’s retro stage or something (?) and I know that The Human League headlined that on Sunday last year. It’s generally an good day out considering its totally free to get in and they usually put on a halfway decent lineup. I have to admit though I wasn’t very impressed with the bands playing this year… They also have a bit of a fun fair going on and theres a ‘bar’ tent with an open acoustic stage e.t.c. it’s all pretty festival like.

I tried to upload a picture of a giant pink inflatable elephant from the funfair but for some reason tumblr didn’t like it and it didn’t work :(
Maybe i’ll upload that later when I pick my camera up. I also brought a shirt with an outline drawing of a fish in a fish bowl on. It’s amazing.

Today I am pretty much thinking I don’t want to be a ‘surveyors assistant’ any more. Too much hassle and not enough moolah…
