Johnny James Wilson
somethingintellectual:

So this morning I started watching Skins (season 1). Call it peer pressure, call it Tumblr’s addiction (I see Cassie on my dashboard constantly), either way I’m pretty impressed.
Somewhere in my mind, my inner hipster (because yes, we all have one) is frowning at me saying, “Oh no Jessica, that show is totally mainstream now!”

It starts good and gets worse from there until it transends into a surreal hipsterish fantasmagorical nightmare that would give Alice in Wonderland on LSD a run for it’s money, yet you continue to watch it in the vain hope that it might get real, or at least be funny for a few seconds like it used to be, until you realise your not going to get those 6 or 7 hours of your life back that you just wasted watching a complete pile of product placement advertising versus “how to look cliche-teenager -cool and appeal to a mainstream audience” drama with little or no relevance to actual teenage life being acted out by actors so transparent they would make Kristen Stewart jealous and that is saying something. My only exception to all of the above is that I thought Pandora was pretty cool, I liked her, the rest of Seasons 3 and 4 can go and rot in the Bargain bin for all I care.
