Paris went well, the journey was… long, but ultimately worth it. Saw some things you only usually read about or look at on the internet, got to be part of some really special moments, and all in all had a really nice time with moniquejacklyn.
We also learned a few things:
- There is alot of graffiti in Paris, even the white vans and lorries were covered in graffiti…
- French people do not know what a “White Wine Spritzer” is.
- Homeless people are everywhere and like to keep Cats.
There are some stories to talk about, like the time my girlfriend told a homeless person she didn’t like the French, in French… and how we we’re basically spoken to in English most of the entire holiday, despite trying our hardest to speak in French they just know you’re English somehow (?). And there’s the little story of a Geordie guy trying to order two 4 shots of Bicardi’s in English, in a french hotel, where the waiters speak French (seriously, it’s not hard to learn 1 - 8 in French?!) but he was as thick as spades…
I could go on for a while, but lets just say it was an experience and I think we both had a really good time. We also visited the Lomo gallery store in Paris, and the woman who works there spoke perfect english so a nod of respect for that, and I brought a Coloursplash Flash unit, Monique got the Ultra Wide angle lens for her Diana which she loves and we both went halves on the Ringflash.
We got some other stuff too, Monique brought me an alien from Toy Story which is awesome and she named it Greg. There are pictures to follow and there are already a few from ma copine on apptography.so the rest are locked away on medium format and 35mm film until we both get them processed (which is not looking good right now because we are both broke and halloween (our actual anniversary) is coming up soon) but once they are processed / cross-processed i’m sure we’ll get them online ASAP so you can all see how pretty the eiffel tower is at night and how busy the arc de triumphe is during the day.
um, thats it, i’m about to spam you with photos from the Shironeko Holga loaded with x-pro 100 lomo film that I got processed with just before I left, cheers.
